COMPANY PROFILE

History

William Lamb Group was founded over 125 years ago in 1887 to manufacture clogs for workers employed in the woollen mills and coal mines of Yorkshire's West Riding.

In the 1950s we specialised in football boots and in the 1960s in the first production of training shoes. The business expanded rapidly employing over 800 people by the end of the 1970s across four manufacturing sites. In 1981 the company started to expand production to Italy and the Far East.

In 2000 all European manufacturing ceased and production focused on overseas contractors. We have liaison offices in China, Vietnam, India and Laos employing over 100 staff including Quality Control Inspectors, Technicians and Ethical teams.

Today

We are one of the largest footwear and accessories importers in Europe, with distribution in excess of 10 million pairs annually and a development team of 25 full-time designers. Our web-based links to our Far East offices enable rapid execution from initial concept to development samples and ultimately to bulk production.

The Company is a market leader in licensed children’s footwear and accessories with a stable of over 40 licences including Minions, Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Peppa Pig, Thomas & Friends and many more.

Product categories in our footwear portfolio include Trainers, Slippers, Canvas, Sandals, Clogs, Boots, Wellies, School shoes, Ladies’ and Men’s fashion shoes. Our accessories division specialises in ladies’ handbags, leather goods and children’s licensed bags, umbrellas and accessories.
